Hygiene, both onboard and at the airport,
is of great importance for us. Bringing
passengers safely and healthy to their
destination is our top priority and to be
able to guarantee this we always follow
strict hygiene rules. Covid-19, the
Coronavirus, does not survive well outside
the body and is destroyed with detergent. We
thoroughly clean and disinfect each aircraft
before departure. This includes vacuuming
all seats and carpets, cleaning and
disinfecting everything passengers may come
into contact with, and providing clean
blankets which we distribute in a protective
plastic film. For catering, we always adhere
to the strictest hygiene rules.
During the flight
To ensure excellent air quality onboard, the
air is continuously refreshed with outside
air. The air recycling systems have
certified filters that continuously purify
the air and trap pathogens, including
Covid-19.
Additionally, the Air France and KLM crew
is briefed to remain alert throughout each
flight. If a passenger falls ill, a strict
protocol for infectious diseases comes into
effect. Special Corona kits, available on
each flight, help prevent the spread of the
virus. The crew will take care of the
passenger and assist those who sat nearby.
