Starting July 1, 2020.

From March 3, 2020, customers with direct and indirect sale tickets are being notified via LATAM’s centralized channels: email, SMS, LATAM App.

Protection proposed:

Passengers traveling on the route between MAD - FRA vv and between SCL – FRA vv will be protected as indicated below:

Passengers on the route MAD – FRA vv:

• 1st option: on flights operated by Iberia (IB) in the same class of service or lower available, in the original cabin.

• 2nd option (in case 1st is not available only): on flight operated by Lufthansa (LH) in the S class or lower for economy class, and P class for Business cabin.

 
Passengers on the route SCL - FRA vv (flights LA704/LA705):

• Direct LATAM flight between SCL and FRA (LA708/LA709)
• Rerouting LATAM via Sao Paulo, Brazil (GRU) with daily GRU FRA service.

 
Protecting flights are being incorporated manually in our central systems in the original cabin, both for direct and indirect channels.

Reservation handling:

If a customer is not satisfied with the alternative itinerary proposed or if the new itinerary does not show in their reservation, s/he may request a change or refund as per the terms indicated in the protection policy of the LATAM Procedures Manual (LPM).

When reissuing, in Ticket Endorsements box insert the note:

INVOL CHG DUE TO MAD FRA CNLD

Ancillaries:

If protection is on an OAL flight: Subject to involuntary refund, as ancillary services cannot be offered on other carriers.

If protection is on a LATAM flight: Process as involuntary refund (if rerouting) and reassociate if the same segment and service are maintained.

Customers with LATAM Travel land programs:

Subject to change or refund at no cost to the customer.

Important:

Customers with a train reservation in Germany must indicate the new “pick up number” provided by the system after reissuing the ticket. For details, check section “Germany Rail Service”.
